TYPICAL APPLICATIONS:

The following photographs were taken courtesy of the Mary MacKillop Centre in Perth, and show the use of various Phoenix paints in a range of colours, and include KINGCOAT gloss for the doors and frames, and Phoenix FULL ACRYLIC LOWOW SHEEN for the walls.

Colours : All paints below can be tinted to light (pastel) colours.
Application : All the paints listed below can be applied by brush, spray or roller.

UNIVERSAL PRIMER - (CODE : 1005)

An excellent white galvanised iron primer, with a high level of adhesion. Useful for protection against flash-rusting. Although it does not offer the full protection of METALFIX 1000 primer, it is a much cheaper primer for galvanised roofs. Must be over-coated with a Phoenix top coat.

WHITE UNDERCOAT/PLASTER SEALER - (CODE : 1006)
A white interior and exterior primer, with very high solids (53% by weight) which give excellent opacity (hiding power) and coverage. Based on a pure acrylic resin which imparts wet adhesion promotion (WAP) plus a superior resistance to any residual alkaline surfaces (eg. plaster with excess lime). Can be tinted. Used as a general purpose undercoat for plaster walls, timber etc.

WHITE TIMBER PRIMER (PLUS TANNIN BLOCK) - (CODE : 1016)
Primer especially developed to inhibit tannin staining when painting over timber substrates. Works by means of chelation (precipitation), whereby soluble metal ions combine with the phenol groups in the tannins and render them insoluble. Usually top coat with 3015 or 3001.

CEILING WHITE - (CODE : 3018)
High solids (49% by weight) and high opacity interior ceiling paint, rheologically modified to force paint to cling to the roller which reduces roller spatter. Contains special pigments to ensure completely matt finish by blocking any optical light reflections. Usually used in white colour to optimise brightness in the room. This has the lowest price per litre of any household paint we make.

VINYL MATT WHITE - (CODE : 3014)
High opacity internal wall paint - can be tinted to any light or pastel colour. Washable/wipeable paint. Application by brush, spray, roller. Based on a high performance vinyl acetate acrylic, copolymer resin. Paint has low odour plus big advantage of being extremely low cost.

VINYL LOW SHEEN - (CODE : 3013)
Very similar paint to Vinyl Matt, but with a higher resin content (and lower PVC) hence a higher sheen finish. Improved dirt rejection and enhanced ease of cleaning. Ideal for bedrooms and lounges etc. Can be tinted to full range of pastel colours. Same resin advantages as 3014 and similar low cost.

FULL ACRYLIC LOW SHEEN - (CODE : 3015)
One of our most popular exterior paints, featuring a massive level of a pure acrylic resin which endows the coating with a superior wet adhesion promotion, excellent resistance to weather, moisture and U.V. Ideal for top-coating exterior surfaces such as pergolas, eaves, weatherboard, etc. and also widely used for walls in high traffic areas, such as corridors and areas prone to moisture, eg. bathrooms and kitchens etc. (For range of deeper colours, see ‘TRADITIONAL” Low Sheen range). Forms a virtually scrubbable paint film.

FULL ACRYLIC GLOSS - (CODE : 3001)
Similar paint to Full Acrylic Low Sheen (3015), but with greatly increased resin levels for a spectacular gloss. This paint has a magnificent flow, resists settling, and the final film is high resistant to chipping, peeling and cracking and maintains a flexible finish. Both this and 3015 allow any entrapped moisture vapour (eg. in timber etc.) to gradually diffuse out through the dry film.
