"METALFIX" RUST CONVERTING PAINT
I felt I had to let you know how very successful your METALFIX paint
has been on my old Toyota ute (Old Joe). It has now been ten (10) years
since I repaired a lot of the body that was completely rusted away, using
glass fibre and METALFIX paint.
There is still a 100% bond between the rusted metal and the METALFIX paint
glass fibre application. Where the METALFIX paint was
applied to other rusty parts of the truck, there has been no further rust
deterioration.
Enclosed you will find a few photographs that may be of interest to you,
the early ones were taken 10 years ago just after I carried out the original
repairs, and the last photo was taken earlier this year, from which you
can see that there has been no deterioration in the paint (see
image right). |
 |
|
I can guarantee that there has been no re-touching of the paint, and that
the excellent condition of the paint is real and genuine.
Yours faithfully,
NEVILLE WILLSEA |

"MAXICOAT" high performance
concrete coating.
Thanks for the data, it is a great product. Peter and self are greatly
pleased with the look and finish and many others have commented, so have
enclosed some photographs for you (see above).
The area is a lush rainforest once logged for its Rosewood and Cedar's,
under the cliffs of Spring Brooke with many waterfalls and good walking
tracks. We are only 40 minutes behind the Gold Coast, we have self contained
cabins, so if you are coming over any time, come and stay. Thanks again
Vince, when anything else happens we will be in touch.
Regards, ,
Robert Astill |

METALFIX / 1000. KINGCOAT and EASYTREAD
I just thought that I would drop you a few lines on your METALFIX and KINGCOAT products.
As you are aware I had trialed 4 different rust converters, in various
rust and salt water environs over some months, that was in 1992. It was
then that I decided to use METALFIX to coat the entire
hull of my 14 metre yacht built of steel in Broome.
We coated the hull in strict accordance with your instructions, both inside
and out. This involved electric wire brushing all loose surface rust, then
applying 2 generous coats of METALFIX by brush. We have since found that
a medium priced Wagner airless spray works a treat better.
|
 |
|
I must say I had some apprehension on using this system but I have well
and truly lost all that. I coated the METALFIX with four
coats of primer (2 pack) and 2 coats of KINGCOAT top coat.
The application of the 2 pack was very amateurish, however it still lasted
some 9 years over METALFIX. The astonishing thing was
as the two pack was pressure blown off with water, that damn METALFIX (in
the main) was as good as new. You have my photos to look at and wonder.
We just patched some of the worst of it with new METALFIX and coated it
again, now a year later no problems yet.
Now this damn KINGCOAT of yours has been abused in all
states of application and use, by me and its probably the most versatile
paint I've used. You won't like this, but for quick fixes I have used it
on the topside's over bare metal so many times that our last complete topside
sand down was not primed at all just 4 coats of KINGCOAT over
bare metal, and other sanded paints. It's still perfect after 12 months
totally in the briney.
I use it now below the water line, in patches on modifications, and no
problems to date. Mostly as a quick fix till later, but it gives no sign
of breaking up. I've been very happy with your paints and could go on and
on with the abuse that has been bestowed on your paints, but you should
show some interest in this letter, knowing of the performance of these
products after 10 years of trialing, and use.
Yours truly,
John Molnar
Vessel Shindig
P.S. Your EASYTREAD decktread after this time is also
great and very forgiving for patch ups. Also 3M's plastic scourer on a
7" sander is the best way to mechanically remove METALFIX paints,
and KINGCOAT sands normally after some 2 - 3 weeks in
hot climes. |

Phoenix Paints "TIMBER STAIN"
I am pleased to provide a testimonial for the above product which we
have been using
for more than four years.
The reasons we use it are:
1. It looks good. We use the Mahogany
Timber Stain on our Western Red Cedar weatherboards.
The stain brings out a delicious golden-red hue that
we really like, and the grain of the wood is still
visible. We have had many people comment on how good
our home 'feels" and we think a big pan of that
is due to the colour of the weatherboards.
2. It is easy to apply. It goes on quickly and it dries
in about half an hour, so you can do a couple of coats in a day.

3. Itis environmentally friendly. This is important to
us. Being a water based product we know we can use it and clean our brushes
without impacting on our health or polluting the environment.
4. It lasts and is easy to maintain. We have had Timberstain
on our north facing wall for more than four years. It needs a touch up
coat now, but it has weathered well. The western and southern walls do
not need recoating yet. When we apply a new coat to an area it does not
make the older areas look worn. It blends in well. Also it doesn't go dark
or black with mould as we have some timber boards do. We apply one coat
on the back side to seal the wood and two coats on the front face.
We recommend this product to any of our friends who are renovating or recladding
their homes with Western Red Cedar weatherboards. We have just started
some more renovations and will be using the Timberstain product again.
Yours sincerely,
Gary Burke |
